Job Description:

Role Purpose

Supports MLRO/MLCO and Jersey office by ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and internal policies.

Helps manage risk exposure, maintain effective systems and controls, and foster a culture of compliance and ethical standards.

Key Responsibilities

Adhere to internal policies and procedures.

Assist with Customer Due Diligence (CDD) reviews, including PEPs, sanctions, and liaison notices.

Conduct client screening and ongoing monitoring (conflict checks, background searches).

Analyze screening outputs and communicate relevant findings to fee earners.

Collaborate with stakeholders across Appleby offices to improve processes and share best practices.

Support internal monitoring (CMP) and regulatory/audit inspections.

Maintain compliance registers and perform ad hoc tasks.

Undertake Continuous Professional Development (CPD).

Requirements

Understanding of Jersey Financial Services Anti-Money Laundering Handbook.

Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and effective communication.

Self-motivated, organized, flexible, and a team player.

Customer-focused and assertive.

Prior experience in client due diligence and screening in a regulated environment.

Familiarity with compliance tools (Aderant, InTake, Adex) and Microsoft Office.

Interest in regulatory developments and current affairs.

Willingness to pursue compliance qualifications.
